About

I build instruments for looking closely at living systems. In practice that means designing the circuit, writing the firmware and — when the signal demands it — the software that climbs from the board up to the decision. The last few years have been low-noise amplifiers, electrodes, and the stubborn work of turning raw signal into something a researcher can trust.

low-signal instrumentation, in the µV-to-mV range, where layout matters more than simulation.

Writing

Engineering notes — what worked, what burned, and what I'd do differently. I publish once something has survived the bench.

Currently building

Three lines of work hold the bench right now. None of them came from planning — they came from problems that annoyed me enough.

  1. SPIKEPRINTneural instrumentation, in use in two labs.

  2. VERIDOSEclinical embedded, hospital pilot.

  3. NeuroPulseopen embedded, third hardware revision.
